Duties
You will identify cybersecurity methods/techniques optimally suited to support the needs of external partners (e.g., vendors) and lead efforts to integrate them into all aspects of operations.
You will provide customers with expert information/analytical support/guidance on cybersecurity requirements for proposed IT acquisitions from earliest stages of development, through the acquisition milestone process and follow-on support.
You will conduct announced/unannounced security site surveys/inspections to ensure/verify adherence to Assessment and Authorization documentation and cybersecurity regulations.
You will guide the customer team’s analysis/implementation of IAVM actions (e.g., IAVAs, IAVBs), issued as “security patches” to counter suspected or anticipated intrusions into Navy communications networks.
You will act as a Cyber Security specialist for the development of A and A documentation/RMF artifacts for all aspects of IT systems such as legacy and RDTE networks, Platform IT, enterprise business systems, and other systems as necessary.
You will review and interpret system scanning reports for thoroughness and accuracy, recommending corrective actions and mitigation strategies as necessary.

- This position is covered under the Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act (DAWIA). Certification in the Acquisition Functional Area and category assigned to the position is required within established category timeframes.
- This position is designated as a Cyber IT/Cybersecurity Workforce position. You must obtain and maintain the credentials as described in SECNAV M-5239.2 for specialty area Information Systems Security Manager within 12 months of appointment.
- Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or pass the test. You will be subject to random testing.
- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of experience demonstrating the four competencies below, and one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-11/12) or pay band (DS-04) in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Examples of qualifying experience include: 1) Identifying the optimal cybersecurity methods/techniques for operations; 2) Integrating appropriate cybersecurity protocols for IT acquisitions; 3) Ensuring compliance with governing Information Assurance (IA) policies/procedures/documentation requirement; and 4) Performing scans of IT infrastructure and making recommendations of corrective actions.
Your experience must also reflect skill in the following areas: attention to detail, customer service, oral communication, and problem solving.
