You will serve as an Aircraft Ordnance Systems Mechanic Leader Aviation Department in FLEET READINESS CENTER SOUTHWEST.
Duties
You will serve as a specialist of aircraft ordnance, leading a team of 3+ employees for ordnance seat component and aircraft systems.
You will repair, align, install, test and diagnose aircraft systems and components while leading a crew of three or more artisans, within a Cell Based Work Environment (CBWE) in an aircraft production line.
You will remove, assemble, install, test, and adjust aircraft and component Ordnance items such as explosive doors, Oxygen Systems test and checks, arming, de-arming, etc.
You will perform progressive static and dynamic inspections and assessment of assigned Type/Model/Series (TMS) aircraft mechanical, hydraulic, pneudraulic, and environmental components.
You will establish man-hour estimates for the over and above work and direct the procurement or repair of components/material.
Requirements

- You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.
- You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
- Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

The Screen-out Element for this position is: The ability to lead or supervise others performing the most difficult and complex tasks including: Removing, assembling, installing, testing, and adjusting aircraft and component ordnance items such as explosive doors, Oxygen Systems test and checks; Diagnosing trouble revealed by inspections and tests; Preforming detailed safety, static/operational inspections of aircraft systems, engines, components and structures; Identifying discrepancies on aircraft systems, components and accessories, which are suitable for continued service without replacement, rework or processing; and Obtaining needed information or decisions from supervisors and production managers on problems that arise.
