You will serve as TECHNICIAN (LCS Integration Manager- LITM) in the LCS Pacific Fleet Integration Branch (Code N61) of the Availability Integration Division (Code N60) of the Modernization and Installation Department (Code N00) of NAVAL SURFACE WARFARE CENTER, Port Hueneme, California, or San Diego, California.

Duties

You will serve as the LITM, leading a team of waterfront engineers and technicians in the successful introduction and testing of new LCS software baselines and high visibility, mission critical hardware installations, You will report directly to the LCS CS Integration and Test Program Office with the local Program Manager Representative, assist in scheduling resources to meet installation priorities of the ship class, You will maintain currency in the fielding profile of all LCS CS Baseline and mission critical combat systems, You will monitor and advise on site test plans, development status, waterfront installation and test requirements, Computer Program Condition Reports, and impacts to ship crew, systems, and operational schedule, You will evaluate and validate readiness of software and equipment to be installed on LCS class ships, You will align with NAVSEA and Program Office, and the fleet, regarding prioritization of software deliveries, hardware installations, ship resources, mission requirements, and required ship events, You will research and convey risk and impacts of incomplete site testing, prototype issues, schedule slippage, logistics, manning, and training issues, and additional concerns for risk impact to the Program Offices and fleet, You will recommend Courses of Action (COAs) (e.g., organization of ship assets across hulls, redirecting personnel assignments, canceling, scheduling or sharing range time and assets), You will work with Program Offices to reschedule events, installation and testing to maintain higher prioritized requirements, You will ensure the adequacy of the Combat Systems Ship Qualification Team, on-ship and school training and documentation are sufficient for the crew to safely operate newly modified systems and software, You will coordinate with NSWC PHD and other Combat Systems ISEAs to ensure the exchange of Best Practices and sharing of Lessons Learned and development of operating procedures to ensure consistent and responsive task execution among organizations.

  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
  • You will be required to complete ethics orientation within three months of appointment and submit a Confidential Financial Disclosure Report, OGE-450, within 30 days of appointment.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the next lower pay band, the NT-04 (GS-11/12 equivalent) or grade level in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector providing shipboard technical or managerial oversight of support services (e.g., requirements, development and testing, ship combat system certification, testing and evaluation) for software, hardware, and other combat system interfaces, to optimize Fleet combat mission effectiveness.
