This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Personnel of the DoD Workforce to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service. About the Position: This position serves as an IT Specialist for the Logistics Data Analysis Center (LDAC).

Duties

Serve as an Information Technology Specialist performing work that involves applying analytical processes to the design, documentation, development, modification, testing, installation, and implementation in support of new or existing software. Develop new methods, approaches and procedures in application software. Provide advice and guidance in a wide range and variety of complex IT and software issues. Conduct analysis to recommend resolution of complex issues affecting application software.

Requirements

• Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.
• Temporary Duty (TDY) Travel is required approximately 15 percent of the time.

Basic Requirement for Information Technology Specialist (Applications Software): Specialized and Other Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes developing application software and services; leading software development teams; executing code reviews; performing feasibility studies on information technology; and planning, preparing and presenting internal and external management level briefings/presentations. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12). The specialized experience must include, or be supplemented by, information technology related experience (paid or unpaid experience and/or completion of specific, intensive training, as appropriate) which demonstrates each of the four competencies, as defined: (1) Attention to Detail - Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail. Examples of IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: completing thorough and accurate work independently, even in the most difficult or stressful situations; occasionally reviewing work completed by others.
