The incumbent serves as a Transportation Assistant - Transportation Coordinator and acts as primary contact to Veterans for transportation needs. The incumbent works with the Hero Transportation Service for workload forecasting, scheduling design, procedure development, and quality improvement implementation, modification of processes, evaluation, and ongoing operational flow of the Hero Transportation Service program.

Duties

The coordination of transportation function is multi-faceted and diverse. The three major areas of responsibility are: (1) Scheduling, Data Collection, & Tracking Support; (2) Consult Management responsibilities; (3) Program Support responsibilities. The incumbent must have knowledge of clinical services, related software, and programs as they relate to clinical computing and office automation. Major duties include but are not limited to: Review records and ensure fleet compliance of the Motor Vehicle Policy at the Atlanta VA Medical Center. Knowledge in tracking vehicle expenses, and income to identify trends for further review. Performs a basic analysis of the data and generates a variety of reports. Establishes protocols for incoming data, organizes computerized data sets, and retrieves computerized data. Enters pertinent information into an automated tracking system. Utilize and monitor the GSA vehicle tracking programs such as FAST and determine proper vehicle usage. Utilizes the Veterans Health Information System & Technological Architecture (VISTA), Computerized Patient Record Systems (CPRS) or SharePoint Consult/Request Tracking System in processing internal consultations. Compiles and analyzes statistical data and determines vehicle underutilization rates for the VISN and the Atlanta VA Medical Center. Planning responsibilities require consideration of support services e.g., systems management, operations, workload forecasting, review, and reporting of data/statistical results of program/project studies, vehicle maintenance and repair, etc. Compilation, and/or tracking of data and statistical information in support of an organization's program operation. Maintains automated system of program-specific data to track suspense's on items such as project milestones, progress reports, funding accomplishments, compliance strategies, etc. Coordinates incoming data from a variety of sources. Reviews documents, reports, and/or applications for omissions and inconsistencies, and ensures data entry is complete and accurate. To qualify for this position, applicants must meet all requirements by the closing date of this announcement, 01/08/2024. Time-In-Grade Requirement: Applicants who are current Federal employees and have held a GS grade any time in the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements by the closing date of this announcement. For a GS-6 position you must have served 52 weeks at the GS-5. The grade may have been in any occupation, but must have been held in the Federal service. An SF-50 that shows your time-in-grade eligibility must be submitted with your application materials. If the most recent SF-50 has an effective date within the past year, it may not clearly demonstrate you possess one-year time-in-grade, as required by the announcement. In this instance, you must provide an additional SF-50 that clearly demonstrates one-year time-in-grade.
