You will serve as a Fire Protection Specialist in the Fire and Emergency Services of NAS JRB NEW ORLEANS.
Duties
You will modify the scope and purpose of a fire protection training program to correct deficiencies identified during live firefighting operations.
You will administer a fire protection and prevention training program (e.g., structural firefighting, aircraft crash and rescue response, fire prevention and emergency medical services, hazardous materials response, etc.) for a fire department.
You will prepare lesson plans for student firefighter training.
You will present situational and classroom training at installation fire prevention activities.

- You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Inspecting building and facilities to identify fire hazards and implement corrective actions; 2) Identifying hazardous conditions or practices, evaluates degree of hazard involved, and determines appropriate action to be taken; 3) Developing and conducting training course on fire safety practices and procedures (i.e. fixed and portable fire protection equipment, station fire prevention regulations, special hazardous operations/conditions, home and/or work practices, etc.) for military and civilian employees, contractors, and dependents; and 4) Providing guidance to supervisors, employees, and the general populace on fire safety and fire protection. NOTE: This experience must be fully supported in your resume to be considered for this position.
The following certifications are required: Fire Inspector I and II, Fire Instructor I, and HAZMAT Awareness. These certifications must have been awarded by DoD, IFSAC or ProBoard to meet the requirement. If you do not possess all of the above certifications, and provide verification with your application, you will be rated ineligible.
