You will serve as a STAFF ACTION OFFICER of HEADQUARTERS US INDO-PACIFIC COMMAND.

Duties

You will serve as staff action officer for external program taskings from higher headquarters to include Joint Chief of Staff (JCS) and Office of Secretary of Defense (OSD) You will coordinate suspenses, extensions, and products and provide updates with Joint Staff, Combatant Commands, and OSD tasking authorities You will maintain continuous liaison and communication with directorates, command, and higher headquarters to ensure assigned actions are handled within prescribed time limits You will manage internal tasks You will be responsible for system policy, evaluation and improvements, template design, database design and queries, TMS training, and coordinating all phases (inputting, disseminating, reviewing, tracking, etc.) of tasks to completion You will serve as special project officer for the Chief of Staff for a myriad of special tasks

Requirements

  • Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.

  • Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.

Qualifications

GS-11 Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate performing duties such as the following: Reviewing, compiling, and analyzing Action Packages, memorandums, messages, and briefs to determine information and tasking; Maintaining communication with higher command to ensure assigned actions meet time limits and that responses conform to requirements; Reviewing and evaluating completed assignments, tasks, and staff actions for quality, appropriate levels of coordination, consistency, logic, soundness of recommendations, and compliance with policy; Developing electronic tasking systems for the purpose of establishing and coordinating suspenses, and tracking command-wide tasks to completion; and Completing required analysis on assigned actions by formulating recommendations and presenting the action for decision by preparing the best product to implement these recommendations. GS-09 Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate performing duties such as the following: Assisting with the analysis of Action Packages, memorandums, messages, and briefs to determine information and tasking; Maintaining communication with higher command to ensure assigned actions meet time limits and that responses conform to requirements; Helping to evaluate completed assignments, tasks, and staff actions for quality, appropriate levels of coordination, consistency, logic, soundness of recommendations, and compliance with policy; and Developing electronic tasking systems for the purpose of establishing and coordinating suspenses, and tracking command-wide tasks to completion. GS-11:

OR
