About the Position:
Serves as a Project Manager with the responsibility to plan, develop, coordinate and implement processes and procedures related to projects managed within the Huntsville Center. In this position, the incumbent plans, schedules, tasks, and monitors the progress of the Product Delivery Team (PDT) in the procurement of basic contracts and serves as the single point of contact for the status of contract acquisitions.
Position may be filled at the GS-11 or GS-12 grade level.
Duties
Responsible for the overall management control, coordination, and execution of assigned projects.
Plan, develop, coordinate, and implement processes and procedures related to management systems for assigned projects.
Coordinate the planning functions involved in assigned programs/projects, identifying, and developing ways to resolve problems and cope with issues.
Collect project execution data and instruct the proper placement of this data on a database for use in estimating cost and production rates for future projects.
Serve as Project point of contact with military and civilian customers.
Provides status reports to leadership on projects assigned to include progress, issues and trends.
Requirements

- Up to 25% TDY (duty travel) may be required.

Qualifications for the GS-301-11:
Specialized Experience:
One year of specialized experience which includes assisting journeyman employees initiating and executing projects; determining the sequencing and timing of key project events and milestones; coordinating project activities; and finding methods to evaluate accomplishment of project milestones. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-09).
OR
Education: Ph.D or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position.
OR
Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18. Add the two percentages.
Qualifications for the GS-301-12:
Specialized Experience:
One year of specialized experience which includes planning, coordinating, evaluating and reviewing all phases of project control including the interpretation of and compliance with criteria, regulations, policies, and procedures, design authorization and directives; availability and proper application of funds; and coordination of changes and additions of assigned projects and contracts. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11 ).
