About the Position: This position is located with the U.S. Army Sustainment Command, 404th Army Field Support Brigade, Logistics Readiness Center, Rock Island, IL.
This is an obligated position.
Position may be filled as a temporary promotion or detail NTE 13 months by a current permanent Army employee.
Duties
Establish standard operating procedures and performance metrics to manage Common Levels of Support in accordance with Army Baseline Services (ABS) and related Service Support Programs in select logistics ABS.
Directly supervise work center staff for plans and operations, resource management, administration, information technology, and ammunition supply and is performance rater for employees under direct supervision.
Perform overall planning for the Logistics Readiness Center by analyzing mission assignments, establishing program objectives and developing current and long-range plans for accomplishment of assigned functions to include contingency planning.
Analyze the division short- and long-range strategic logistics planning objectives and goals.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- The employee may be required to work other than normal duty hours, which may include evenings, weekends, and/or holidays. The employee may be required to work overtime.
- Temporary duty travel of 10% may be required.
- A National Agency Check with Inquiries (NACI) Background Investigation is required.

Current Department of Army Civilian Employees

Specialized Experience required for GS-12: To qualify based on your work experience, your resume must describe at least one year of experience which prepared you to do the work in this job. Specialized experience is defined as experience that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled, such as: Providing technical guidance regarding logistics management policies and procedures; conducting analysis of logistics programs or operations; reviewing standard operating procedures or Command directives in order to recommend changes. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11).
