Duties

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING DAY TO DAY As a Public Health Advisor, you will use your knowledge and experience to optimize business results and customer experience by: Provide and coordinate training, technical assistance, knowledge dissemination and program support on the intersection between climate change and mental health or behavioral health. Provide national leadership in the above subject matter. Drive and support innovation in the field of mental health services with regard to this subject matter. Foster CMHS internal and external partnerships and communication and coordinate CMHS work related to the subject matter. Coordinate and develop technical assistance and responses to Congressional, departmental and agency proposals and inquiries regarding the subject matter.

Qualifications

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR Basic Qualifications: Basic Requirements for all Public Health Program Specialist Series, 0685 positions require that you demonstrate specialize experience in each of the following five competencies: 1. Knowledge of organizational, operational, and programmatic concepts and practices applied by public, private, or nonprofit agencies and organizations engaged in public health or other health-related activities. 2. Knowledge of the methods, processes, and techniques used to develop and deliver public health or health-related programs in State and local settings. 3. Knowledge and experience in implementation specialized public health programs. 4. Knowledge of, and skill in, the application of administrative or analytical methods and techniques needed for working within a public health or related organization framework structure and carrying out specific program functions. 5. Skill in oral and written communication; gathering and conveying information; making oral presentations; and preparing reports, correspondence, and other written materials. AND A. GS-14 Minimum Qualifications: You must have one-year specialized experience to perform successfully the duties of the position. To be creditable, specialized experience must have been equivalent to at least the GS-13 grade level in the Federal service performing ALL of the following: 1. Conducting program analysis/development, policy analysis/development and/or research in the topic of the impact of climate change on mental health or behavioral health. 2. Collaborating with and providing consultation or technical assistance to internal and external stakeholders on this topic. 3. Working within or with federal, state or local public or private agencies/organizations to provide such analysis and consultation or technical assistance. Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to gain employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. If such experience is on a part-time basis, you must provide the average number of hours worked per week as well as the beginning and ending dates of the experience so it can be fully credited.
