ORGANIZATIONAL LOCATION: DHHS, IHS, Phoenix Area - CRSU, Parker Indian Health Center. Position is located in Parker, Arizona. The Maintenance Mechanic provides technical support in the operation, maintenance and repair with varying degrees and expertise in heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC), Utility Systems, Mechanical Operations, Electrical, Painting, Air Conditioning, Plumbing and Pipefitting. Position is supervised by the Maintenance Mechanic Supervisor.

WG-4749-10: Follow oral or written instructions and/or work orders; Performs the full range of work involved in maintenance, and repair of HVAC equipment including plumbing and electrical work associated with Air Handling Units (AHUs), Refrigeration Systems, Pumps, Motors, Fans, Cooling Towers (fluid coolers), Condensing Boilers, Solar Water Heaters, Heat Exchangers, Compressors, Vacuums, and Building Automation Systems. SELECTIVE PLACEMENT FACTOR: EPA Certification This positions requires an EPA Certification for handling of refrigerants to perform the repair, overhaul, maintenance, and servicing of freezers, water coolers, air conditioning units, ventilating systems, chillers and related equipment. The EPA certification required is the Universal Certification. Time In Grade Federal employees in the competitive service are also subject to the Time-In-Grade Requirements: Merit Promotion (status) candidates must have completed one year of service at the next lower grade level. Time-In-Grade provisions do not apply under the Excepted Service Examining Plan (ESEP). You must meet all qualification requirements within 30 days of the closing date of the announcement.
