The primary purpose of this position is to protect the organization from espionage, terrorism, and threats of unauthorized disclosure and/or compromise of information considered vital to mission interests, national defense and national security by serving as a security specialist, providing security program functions in support of the organization.
Duties
Plans, organizes, and directs a dimensional, multi-functional Unit Security Program. Serves as the Unit's authority and expert on all matters involving the integrity of all types of classified information.
Develops continuing security education training and awareness programs for the Unit to ensure all individuals are kept appraised of the requirements and guidelines for protecting all forms of classified information.
Responsible for the overall implementation, oversight, and centralized control of the Information Security program for the Unit.
Complies with established Unit Policies and Operating Instruction, Air Force and Department of Defense Security Directives and any other applicable security guidelines.

- DoD Security Fundamental Professional Certification, Security Asset Protection Professional Certification conferrals are required within 2 years of employee EOD or initial assignment date to position IAW DOD 3305.13M, DoD Security Accreditation
Qualifications
Experience requirements are described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Administrative and Management positions.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least 1 year (52 weeks) of specialized experience at the next lower broadband NH-02, equivalent to the next lower grade GS-11 or equivalent in other pay systems. Specialized experience is experience in administration of and responsibility for an extremely complex security program which includes, but is not limited to information, personnel, industrial, physical, communications and various other security rules. Experience in developing comprehensive security programs, identifying actual or potential problem areas, projects program deficiencies, and developing solutions.
NOTE: Due to the use of 120-day rosters, this period of experience may be completed within 120 days of the closing date of this announcement.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:
1. Knowledge of information, personnel, physical, industrial, communications and ADP security concepts, principles, and practices to plan and implement security in these areas.
2. Knowledge of required security training concepts, programs, procedures, and practices to assist managers in establishing and operating internal security programs.
3. Skill in developing, analyzing, and evaluating security programs to meet mission requirements and improve the security program for the Group.
4. Ability to communicate orally and in writing, clearly, concisely, and accurately.
5. Ability to establish effective. professional working relationships with coworkers and customers, contributing to a cooperative working environment and successful accomplishment of the mission.
PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.
