About the Position: Red River Army Depot (RRAD) is located in northeast Texas, 19 miles west of Texarkana and approximately 170 miles northeast of Dallas. Duties
Perform quality control checks to ensure equipment meets depot requirements.
Ensure special test requirements are met in accordance with customer statement of work.
Utilize instruments such as micrometers, dial indicators, dial bore gages, ignition timers, fuel pump testers, etc. for measuring.
Modify testing templates on computer programs to test for product assurance.
Test engine systems to ensure quality mobile equipment.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Position is subject to Overseas Deployment.
- This position requires the completion of an Overseas Deployment Physical Exam if deployed Overseas and an annual exam thereafter to ensure the continued, required level of physical health and ability or fitness to perform the duties of the position.
- Must obtain and maintain a Personnel Background Investigation (NACI).
- You may be expected to travel 25% Temporary Duty Travel (TDY) for business purposes.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain appropriate security clearance for access to Depot Production Computer System.
- Temporary promotion may be made or extended up to a maximum of five years and can be made permanent without further competition.
- Temporary appointment may be extended in one year increments up to a maximum of three years but cannot be made permanent.
- Time Limited Detail NTE may be made or extended at management discretion.
- This position has a requirement to lift up to 75 lbs. in the regular performance of duties.
- This position requires the completion of a pre-employment Physical Examination and an annual examination thereafter to ensure the continued, required level of physical health and ability or fitness to perform the duties of the position.
- The duties of this position require the incumbent to possess or obtain and maintain a valid state Driver's License in one of the 50 U.S. states or possessions to operate vehicles.

Minimum Qualifications (Screen Out Element): Ability to do the work of an Heavy Mobile Equipment Mechanic Inspector Leader without more than normal supervision include visual, auditory, operational and dimension inspections of completed heavy mobile equipment vehicles. I can perform system repairs and maintenance inspections; review guides such as inspection standards, schematics, and technical manuals to understand the functions of parts or systems; and troubleshoot vehicle systems to ensure requirements are met.- Failure to meet this Screen Out Element will result in an ineligible rating.

Physical Efforts-Normally moderate to high physical effort is required in lifting and carrying items weighing from 10 to 44 pounds and occasionally items 45-75 pounds and above. Duties frequently require stooping, bending, reaching, working in close quarters and sometimes awkward positions, and extended period of standing on concrete or metal floors. Some assignments require climbing ladders or on items to perform testing, troubleshooting, and/or repair procedures. Wears and utilizes required safety devices and equipment.
Working Conditions-Works inside and outside at various locations and in all kinds of weather.Duties involve frequent exposure to high noise levels, fuel, oil, exhaust, fumes, dust, smoke, heat, grease and battery acid, hydraulic fluids which may burn or irritate the skin; is subject to road hazards and testing curse hazards while performing road tests. There is frequent exposure to the possibility of cuts, bruises, shocks, burns and strains. Wears and utilizes appropriate required safety devices to equipment. Subject to cuts and bruises from use of hand and power tools and to electrical shock. Subject to travel CONUS and OCONUS locations on short notice.Employee is subject to extended periods of TDY CONUS and O'CONUS, including extended periods of deployment to an O'CONUS combat theater. Employee must be able to pass a deployment physical examination before placement in the position and an annual deployment physical examination thereafter.
