About the Position: Red River Army Depot (RRAD) is located in northeast Texas, 19 miles west of Texarkana and approximately 170 miles northeast of Dallas. Duties
Oversee work to ensure it meets assigned deadlines.
Clarify instructions to subordinates for completing work assignments.
Provide best judgment in determining the extent of repairs needed for heavy mobile equipment vehicle.
Assist subordinates with new procedures.
Oversee work to ensure it meets assigned deadline.
Maintain production records and reports.
Ensure materials are ordered and delivered to work sites to keep from delaying work.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Must obtain and maintain a Personnel Background Investigation (NACI).
- Must be able to obtain and maintain appropriate security clearance for access to Depot Production Computer System.
- This position is supervisory as defined by the Office of Personnel Management's (OPM) General Schedule Supervisory Guide (GSSG). A one-year probation to assess your ability to perform supervisory duties is required unless previously completed.
- This position requires a successfully completion of the Civilian Education System Course and the Supervisory Development Course within 12 months in the position.
- Time Limited Detail NTE may be made or extended at management discretion.
- Temporary appointment may be extended in one year increments up to a maximum of three years but cannot be made permanent.
- Temporary promotion may be made or extended up to a maximum of five years and can be made permanent without further competition.
- This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 10% of the time.

Minimum Qualifications (Screen Out Element): Ability to do the work of an Heavy Mobile Equipment Mechanic Supervisor without more than normal supervision. I have the ability to perform common supervisor duties of explaining the proper tools, equipment, or parts that are required for repairs. I can demonstrate how to interpret guides such as blueprints, sketches, and technical manuals to perform functions of parts or systems; provide quality control review on performed repairs of heavy mobile equipment vehicles; and illustrate troubleshooting analysis to diagnose malfunctions.
