Duties

Oversee work to ensure it meets assigned deadlines. Clarify instructions to subordinates for completing work assignments. Provide best judgment in determining the extent of repairs needed for heavy mobile equipment vehicle. Assist subordinates with new procedures. Oversee work to ensure it meets assigned deadlines. Maintain production records and reports. Ensure materials are ordered and delivered to work sites to keep from delaying work.

Requirements

• Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
• Must obtain and maintain a Personnel Background Investigation (NACI).
• Must be able to obtain and maintain appropriate security clearance for access to Depot Production Computer System.
• This position is supervisory as defined by the Office of Personnel Management's (OPM) General Schedule Supervisory Guide (GSSG). A one-year probation to assess your ability to perform supervisory duties is required unless previously completed.
• This position requires a successfully completion of the Civilian Education System Course and the Supervisory Development Course within 12 months in the position.
• Time Limited Detail NTE may be made or extended at management discretion.
• Temporary appointment may be extended in one year increments up to a maximum of three years but cannot be made permanent.
• Temporary promotion may be made or extended up to a maximum of five years and can be made permanent without further competition.
• This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 10% of the time.
• The duties of this position require the incumbent to possess or obtain and maintain a valid state Driver's License in one of the 50 U.S. states or possessions to operate vehicles.

I can demonstrate how to interpret guides such as blueprints, sketches, and technical manuals to perform functions of parts or systems; provide quality control review on performed repairs of heavy mobile equipment vehicles; and illustrate troubleshooting analysis to diagnose malfunctions. I work under normal supervision of a work leader or journey-level employee who observes tasks in progress and upon completion to make sure they are properly performed. - Failure to meet this Screen Out Element will result in an ineligible rating.
