Duties

You will perform the maintenance and testing required on various weapons. You will collaborate, coordinate, and communicate effectively with team members, engineers, customers and management. You will follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s), and take direction from qualified team leads and management.

Requirements

  • Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.

  • You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain a current ordnance certifications.

Qualifications

FOR DT-03: Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or DT-02 pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) performing maintenance and testing required on various weapons; 2) receiving and shipping of ordnance and ordnance related items; 3) collaborating, coordinating, and communicating effectively with team members, engineers, customers and management, to assure all approved procedures for testing are followed; and 4) following Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's)/directives while working with minimal supervision, and analyzing technical drawings/specifications. FOR DT-02: Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-04 grade level or DT-01 pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) strong mechanical background in order to perform maintenance and testing on various weapons; 2) following Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's) and taking direction from team leads/management; and 3) working directly with Engineers, Technicians, and Customers. FOR DT-02:
Successful completion of a full 4-year course of study leading to a bachelor's degree (a) with major study in an appropriate field of engineering, construction, or industrial technology; or (b) that included at least 24 semester hours in any combination of courses such as engineering, engineering or industrial technology, construction, physics, drafting, surveying, physical science, or mathematics. At least 6 of the 24 semester hours must have been in drafting if the position has been designated by a drafting area of specialization.
