You will serve as a Telecommunications Specialist in the Service and Support Division, Customer Service Branch of MARINE CORPS BASE CAMP PENDLETON.
Duties
You will be responsible for the safe and efficient locating and marking of underground communication utilities.
You will maintain inventory of location markings for future reference.
You will document and photograph communication markings and stake and related damage to utilities.
You will respond to emergency situations for direction to prevent damage and assist with necessary repairs.
You will perform designs and specification for telecommunication systems.
You will make or direct field surveys to investigate existing equipment layout, customer requirements and facility conditions.
Requirements
- Must be a US Citizen.
- Must be determined suitable for federal employment.

Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-07) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector performing most or all of the following duties: 1) Locating and marking all underground communication utilities in streets, utility easements and right of ways using maps, blueprints, sketches, and magnetic and electronic equipment; 2) Analyzes system needs, making calculations, sizes and selectee equipment, materials and other communication systems; 3 Preparing job orders for maintenance, relocation, or alteration of telecommunication services; and 4) Maintaining and updating all locate records and drawings.

Education
In lieu of specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience:
master's or equivalent graduate degree
or
2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree
or
LL.B. or J.D., if related
