You will serve as a IT SPECIALIST (INFOSEC) in the INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY & CYBER SECURITY DIVISION, SPECTRUM WARFARE DEPARTMENT of NAVAIRWARCENWPNDIV CHINA LAKE.

Duties
You will be required to perform cyber security risk assessments, physical security assessments, user awareness training, system auditing and compliance requirements.
You will coordinate with users to clarify requirements, obtain missing data, explain processing delays, discuss priority adjustment options, discuss alternative process methods and anticipated time of process completion.
You will participate in planned and unscheduled security inspections to include cybersecurity validations and command physical security inspections.
You will ensure cybersecurity incidents are reported and actions are taken in accordance with the Incident Response Plan procedures.
Requirements

- This position is designated as a Cyber IT/Cybersecurity Workforce position. You must obtain and maintain the credentials as described in SECNAV M-5239.2 for specialty area 722 level Basic within 12 months of appointment.
- Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
Qualifications
DS-04:
Your resume must demonstrate one year of information technology related experience in the federal service or private or public sector demonstrating the following four competencies, as defined:
1. Attention to Detail - Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail.
2. Customer Service - Works with clients and customers (that is, any individuals who use or receive the services or products that your work unit produces, including the general public, individuals who work in the agency, other agencies, or organizations outside the Government) to assess their needs, provide information or assistance, resolve their problems, or satisfy their expectations; knows about available products and services; is committed to providing quality products and services.
3. Oral Communication - Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately.
4. Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations.
In addition to demonstrating experience in the four competencies above, your resume must also demonstrate one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower pay band (DS-03) in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized Experience must demonstrate some or all of the following: 1) Understanding of computer systems and related cybersecurity software and hardware components; 2) Providing cyber security support for an acquisition program/laboratory; 3) Performing IT review of new equipment prior to procurement and throughout the acquisition process; 4) Performing responsibilities related to cybersecurity compliance, technical support and customer service; 5) Demonstrating knowledge in Information Assurance Vulnerability Alert (IAVA) reporting; and 6) Performing cyber security risk assessments, physical security assessments, user awareness training, system auditing and compliance requirements.
DS-03:
Your resume must demonstrate one year of information technology related experience in the federal service or private or public sector demonstrating the following four competencies, as defined:

Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.
Education
In lieu of specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience:
DS-04:
Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree from an accredited or pre-accredited institution in computer science, engineering, information science, information systems management, mathematics, operations research, statistics, or technology management.
OR
3 full years (54 hours) of progressively higher graduate level education leading to a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree from an accredited or pre-accredited institution in computer science, engineering, information science, information systems management, mathematics, operations research, statistics, or technology management; or, graduate education that provided a minimum of 24 semester hours in one or more of the fields identified above and required the development or adaptation of applications, systems or networks.
DS-03:
Master's or equivalent graduate degree from an accredited or pre-accredited institution in computer science, engineering, information science, information systems management, mathematics, operations research, statistics, or technology management; or, graduate education that provided a minimum of 24 semester hours in one or more of the fields identified above and required the development or adaptation of applications, systems or networks.
OR
2 full years (36 hours) of progressively higher graduate level education leading to a master's degree or equivalent graduate degree from an accredited or pre-accredited institution in computer science, engineering, information science, information systems management, mathematics, operations research, statistics, or technology management; or, graduate education that provided a minimum of 24 semester hours in one or more of the fields identified above and required the development or adaptation of applications, systems or networks.
