About the Position: This position is in the Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel System (DCIPS). Employees occupying DCIPS positions are in the Excepted Service and must adhere to U.S. Code, Title 10, as well as Department of Defense Instruction 1400.25. This position is located at the ST-IC-W0H9AA US ARMY AVIATION AND MISSILE COMMAND.

Duties

At the entry grade levels, you will perform the following duties/responsibilities under closer supervision and direction. At the full performance level, you will perform the following duties/responsibilities independently. Prepares all-source intelligence products and responses to fulfill intelligence requirements. Stays informed of military, political-military, technical, and other developments within assigned areas to conduct valid threat assessments. Maintains close liaison with counterparts in other government agencies and ensures coordination with other analysts in the U.S. Army Materiel Command (AMC). Advises supervisor, division chief and senior analysts on intelligence findings and recommends positions. Serves as a General Military Intelligence Analyst within the command. Analyze intelligence information to assess developments, trends, and threat implications within assigned geographical and functional areas.

Requirements

  • Temporary duty (TDY) travel will be required in conjunction with training and duties less than 25%of the time
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a TOP SECRET security clearance based on a single scope background investigation (SSBI) with eligibility for sensitive compartmented information (SCI).
  • Must be willing to undergo and successfully complete a counterintelligence-scope polygraph examination with No Deception Indicated (NDI) on a pre-appointment and periodic basis.
  • In accordance with Change 3 to AR 600-85, Alcohol and Drug Abuse Prevention and Control Program, individual must successfully pass a urinalysis screening for illegal drug use prior to appointment and periodically thereafter.
  • Two year trial/probationary period may be required.
  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.

This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GG/GS-05). GG-09: To qualify based on your experience, your resume must describe at least one year of experience which prepared you to do the work in this job. Specialized experience is defined as experience selecting, abstracting, or excerpting data from specific sources and compiling them for the use of higher-grade specialists; evaluating and making preliminary analyses of raw intelligence data; and performing routine functions in the area of intelligence collection and dissemination. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GG/GS-07). GG-11: To qualify based on your experience, your resume must describe at least one year of experience which prepared you to do the work in this job. Specialized experience is defined as experience which includes at least two (2) of the following: 1) analyzing intelligence information to assess threat implications within assigned geographical and functional areas; 2) presenting intelligence product conclusions within the intelligence community; or 3) preparing all-source intelligence products. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GG/GS-09). You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: CommunicationsGeneral Military Intelligence (GMI) AnalysisRequirements AnalysisTechnical Competence Progressively responsible experience is that which has included intelligence-related research, analysis, collections and /or operations. This experience should have included intelligence analysis and/or production, intelligence collection and/or operations, counterintelligence, or threat support directly related to the position to be filled. This experience should demonstrate: Knowledge of intelligence processes, cycle and organizations; Knowledge of and/or ability to use research tools such as library holdings, photographs, statistics, graphics and maps; Knowledge of the systems, procedures and methods of analyzing, compiling, reporting and disseminating intelligence data; and/or Knowledge of organization(s) for and methods of collecting and analyzing intelligence data.

Education

Education or equivalent combinations of successfully completed undergraduate and post undergraduate school education and experience may be used to meet total experience requirements at grades GG-11 and below. Please see below for specific information.

GG-07: A Bachelor's Degree that is closely related to the position. Closely Related constitutes a degree which has educated the student in pertinent, specific position-related subject matter allowing the student to develop knowledge and abilities directly applicable to the position being filled such as International Relations, Foreign Area Studies, Political Science, Geography, Foreign Affairs, International Law, History, Economics, Demography, Engineering, Law, Sociology, Psychology, Military Science, Cartography, Social or Cultural Anthropology, and/or Physical or Chemical Science.

OR

A Bachelor's Degree that is supplemented by at least 15 semester hours or 22 quarters hours that are closely related to the position.ORA Bachelor's with Superior Academic Achievement as defined by OPM.ORA Bachelor's Degree supplemented by graduation from the Military Intelligence Officer Basic Course (MIOBC) or the Military Intelligence Officer Advanced Course (MIOAC).

Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage, divide your total months of qualifying experience by 12. Then, divide your semester hours of undergraduate education beyond the first two years by 60. Add the two percentages. The total percentage must equal at least 100 percent to qualify.

GG-09: A Master's Degree that is closely related to the position. Closely Related constitutes a degree which has educated the student in pertinent, specific position-related subject matter allowing the student to develop knowledge and abilities directly applicable to the position being filled.
