About the Position: Serve as the Military Personnel Technician in support of a personnel actions and services team consisting of a specific group or specialty branch. Position is located at Human Resources Command (HRC), Reserve Personnel Management Directorate-Health Services Division at Fort Knox, Kentucky.
Duties
Processes all personnel and administrative actions pertaining to administrative programs and provides recommendations of compliance.
Corrects errors in grammar, spelling, and punctuation. Refers to dictionaries, style manuals, and stablished policy and procedural manuals to insure organizational compliance.
Assists in clerical, statistical, and data entry tasks in support of administrative programs utilizing a personal computer and HR systems.
Demonstrate courtesy, tact and good judgment to provide effective customer service and assistance to the managed population.
Composes replies to a variety of complex inquires pertaining to personnel support for officers serving in the Army or its Reserve Components.
Requirements
- Incumbent must be able to obtain and maintain Secret security clearance.
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Position requires occasional travel away from the normal duty station up to 10%.

Specialized experience is defined as: Experience in performing a wide variety of personnel, administrative and clerical tasks associated with the requirements and procedures of Army Reserve personnel programs. Experience in military personnel management and administration relating to and affecting commissioned and warrant officers and enlisted personnel of the Army Reserve, Military retirees, and the family members of Reserve personnel. Duties require a general familiarity with the laws, rules, regulations, policies, procedures and precedents related to the Army Reserve personnel actions and services.

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-05).
