You will serve as a LOGISTICS MANAGEMENT SPECIALIST in the INTEGRATED PRODUCTS DIVISION, SUSTAINMENT DEPARTMENT of NAWCTSD ORLANDO.

Duties

You will prepare, oversee and defend the complete Technical Data budget for training systems. You will conduct thorough analyses of the operational, maintenance, training, provisioning, and acquisition support documentation needed for complex training devices. You will develop statements of work for contracts, evaluate contact proposals, and offer comprehensive recommendations to the relevant authority for procuring training systems. You will direct the resolution of logistics issues reported by fleet and shore activities associated with training systems, making budget and planning adjustments to accommodate unforeseen developments. You will establish and maintain a comprehensive logistics management information reporting system to brief officials on the real-time logistics status of assigned training system programs.

  • Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.
  • Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered for Selective Service.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • This position is covered under the Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act (DAWIA). Certification in the Acquisition Functional Area and category assigned to the position is required within established category timeframes.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-05 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate some or all of the following: 1) Assisting in identifying logistics planning and execution challenges; 2) Assisting in solving a variety of logistics problems; 3) Utilizing logistics concepts and policies as they relate to the procurement of training systems; 4) Communicating effectively with all contractor and Government principals; 5) Preparing oral and written presentations. In lieu of specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience:

1 full year of graduate level education

or

superior academic achievement
