This position is located in the Security and Hazardous Materials Safety (ASH) organization to the Reinvestigations & Name Check Branch (AXP-420) under the purview of the Office of Personnel Security. The mission of ASH is to ensure aviation safety, support national security, and promote an efficient airspace system through the development and administration of policies and programs.

Duties

This position supports ASH in accomplishing mission critical responsibilities and key agency goals and objectives by implementing the requirements of the Personnel Security Program.

Requirements

  • US Citizenship is required.
  • Selective Service Registration is required for males born after 12/31/1959.
  • Must submit an SF50 (See Required Documents)
  • Designated or Random Drug Testing required.
  • Incumbent must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance.
  • Position may be filled at the FV-G or FV-H grade level.

Qualifications

To qualify for this position at the FV-G level, you must demonstrate in your application that you possess at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to FV-F, FG/GS-5-9 level. Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position. To be creditable, specialized experience must have been at least equivalent to the next lower level in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization.Specialized experience includes experience that demonstrates the ability to analyze problems, identify significant factors, gather pertinent data, and recognize solutions; experience planning and organizing work; communicate effectively orally and in writing; and deal effectively with others in person-to-person situations. Such experience may have been gained in administrative, professional, technical, investigative, or other responsible work. ORSubstitution of education or equivalent combinations of education and experience may be qualifying for this position. Education Substitution: Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.M., if related.To qualify for this position at the FV-H level, you must demonstrate in your application that you possess at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to FV- G, FG/GS-10/11 level. Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position. To be creditable, specialized experience must have been at least equivalent to the next lower level in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization.Specialized experience includes experience implementing the processes and procedures of a personnel security program; reviewing and adjudicating security investigations; entering and maintaining information in a personnel security database; and providing technical guidance and advice on matters pertaining to personnel security. Education

Education Substitution for the FV-G level: Successful completion of a Ph.D. OR equivalent doctoral degree OR Three (3) full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree (OR)LL.M., if related.

NOTE: Equivalent combinations of education and experience are qualifying for all levels for which both education and experience are acceptable.

Education may not be substituted for experience at the FV-H level.
