Duties
Identifies and improves productivity efficiencies and processes through the use of Lean Six Sigma (LSS) and
Continuous Process Improvement (CPI) tools
Develops and executes program policy guidance, communicates lean implementation efforts, tracks and reports
lean events and results, and trains personnel in lean efforts.
Assists in the planning and execution of Value Stream Analysis and Mapping.
Reports tangible cost benefits and Return on Investment (ROI) results gained from implementation of these
process improvements.
Assists and mentors new LSS Green Belts during their assigned LSS events through to project completion.
Instructs Lean Six Sigma Green Belt training, as well as assists with the development of and conducts LSS/CPI
awareness courses and other specialized CPI training as required.
Incumbent must complete Lean Six Sigma Black training and be certified as a Lean Six Sigma Black Belt or
above.
A validated Lean Six Sigma (LSS) Green Belt certification or better (from DoD or equivalent sources) is preferred,
but not required.

Qualifications
To qualify for a Lean Six Sigma Analyst your resume and supporting documentation must support:
A. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience that equipped you with the particular competencies to successfully perform the duties of the position and is directly in or related to this position. To qualify at the GS-12 level, applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 level or equivalent under other pay systems in the Federal service, military or private sector. Applicants must meet eligibility requirements including time-in-grade (General Schedule (GS) positions only), time-after-competitive appointment, minimum qualifications, and any other regulatory requirements by the cut-off/closing date of the announcement. Creditable specialized experience includes:
- Improving process efficiencies across a large organization.
- Training employees involved in Lean Six Sigma programs, activities, and efforts.
- Collecting and analyzing data and determining appropriate improvement strategy; managing multiple projects.
B. Education: Applicants cannot qualify for this position based on education in lieu of specialized experience

Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
Education
Substitution of education may not be used in lieu of specialized experience for this grade level.
