This position is part of the Warfare Centers Personnel Demonstration Project. The NT-5 pay band encompasses positions equivalent to GS-13 and GS-14.
You will serve as a Security Specialist in the Warfare Analysis & Digital Modeling Department (Code M02) of the Naval Surface Warfare Center Dahlgren Division.
Duties
You will plan, lead and execute the Special Access Program security procedures and policy for the Department's Special Access and other highly classified programs.
You will manage the Department's multi-security level analysis and engineering facility.
You will lead security and facility development for all M Department classified programs.
You will serve as the M Department's liaison with the Command's Special Access Program Lead.
You will translate broad and various security regulations and instructions into implementable security policies or procedures, providing consultation and training to ensure compliance of security regulations.
You will develop and implement physical security methods and precautions in accordance with defined security regulations and in a way to keep the facility secure from unauthorized access.
You will instruct program leaders in the correct security policies and procedures, serving as the authoritative source with regard to changes in policy and regulation.
You will lead the investigation for breeches of security protocols or policies and provide written reports to Program Office Security Managers.
You will assist Program Office security personnel during routine or surprise security inspections or investigations.
You will lead local security personnel in self-assessment of facility security policies, documentation, and physical security at all times, as well as in preparation for annual security inspections by Program Office security personnel.
You will provide customer service-type functions to assist scientists, engineers and other facility users in interpreting and implementing security practices, and in transmitting or transferring information or documents to other facilities.
You will provide information technology support for computing and network infrastructure, to include maintenance, documentation support, inspection, incident response, troubleshooting, and repair.

- You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
- Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
- This position may require lifting of up to 25 lbs.
- This position requires a polygraph examination.
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the NT-4 pay band (GS-11 and GS-12 equivalency) in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Applying a wide range of security administration principles to analyze and resolve difficult and complex security problems.
