Duties
Duties and responsibilities vary and increase according to grade level.
Vacancies filled from this flyer may be filled in a variety of IT related areas, such as Data Management, Information Security, Application Support and/or other disciplines.
Requirements
- Must be a US Citizen.

- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

- This position is covered under the Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act (DAWIA). Certification in the Acquisition Functional Area and category assigned to the position is required within established category timeframes.
Qualifications
In order to qualify for this position, your resume must provide sufficient experience and/or education, knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the duties of the specific position for which you are being considered. For all grade levels your resume must reflect one year of information technology related experience in the federal service or private or public sector demonstrating the following four competencies: Attention to Detail, Customer Service, Oral Communication and Problem Solving.
GS-07: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-05 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector applying IT principles, methods, and tools; evaluating established methods and procedures in order to assist in preparing recommendations for changes in methods and practices where appropriate; and identifying and/or resolving basic IT issues and problems.
GS-09: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector evaluating system performance data to identify and address inefficiencies; and identifying problems, ascertaining root cause and impact and providing recommendations for resolution.

Education
Applicants may substitute education for experience in the following situations:
FOR THE GS-07: Your resume must demonstrate that you have completed 1 full year of graduate level education from an accredited or pre-accredited institution in computer science, engineering, information science, information systems management, mathematics, operations research, statistics, or technology management; or, graduate education that provided a minimum of 24 semester hours in one or more of the fields identified above and required the development or adaptation of applications, systems or networks
OR
completed a bachelor's degree with
superior academic achievement from an accredited or pre-accredited institution in computer science, engineering, information science, information systems management, mathematics, operations research, statistics or technology management; or degree that provided a minimum of 24 semester hours in one or more of the fields identified above and required the development or adaptation of applications, systems or networks.
Superior Academic Achievement (SAA) can be obtained through only one of the following methods:
- No more than 10% of academic credit can be based on pass/fail or similar non-traditional grading systems.
- 2.95 GPA overall or higher or in last 2 years (= or less than 10% Pass/Fail)
- 3.45 GPA or higher in major or in last 2 years in major (= or less than 10% Pass/Fail)
- Upper 1/3 ranking in graduating class (You must submit proof with your application)
- National Scholastic Honor Society. Membership in a freshman honor society cannot be used to meet the requirements of this provision. (You must submit proof with your application)
FOR THE GS-09: Your resume must demonstrate that you have completed a master's or equivalent graduate degree from an accredited or pre-accredited institution in computer science, engineering, information science, information systems management, mathematics, operations research, statistics, or technology management; or graduate education that provided a minimum of 24 semester hours in one or more of the fields identified above and required the development or adaptation of applications, systems or networks

completed 2 full years of progressively higher graduate level education from an accredited or pre-accredited institution in computer science, engineering, information science, information systems management, mathematics, operations research, statistics or technology management; or graduate education that provided a minimum of 24 semester hours in one or more of the fields identified above and required the development or adaptation of applications, systems or networks.
