You will serve as a INTERNATIONAL MILITARY STUDENT COORDINATOR (OA) in the Maine Corps Engineer School of TRAINING AND EDUCATION COMMAND.

Duties

You will maintain personnel and training information on training attended, all correspondence related to indebtedness, violations, charges or incidents and records individual counseling of the internation military student. You will conduct oral proficiency interviews and academic counseling with the international military student as needed. You will coordinate, develop, review and provide accurate and most up-to-date tuition pricing information annually on every course that is offered to international military students. You will evaluate policies, practices, procedures to ensure adherence to Marine Corps and higher-level directives and philosophies. You will provide advice and guidance in personal matters to international military students and their dependents. You will coordinate and assist in meeting international military students at the airport or other transportation terminals to include assisting with luggage and transportation to temporary billeting or quarters. You will prepare and submit paperwork for advanced funds for field studies program (FSP) events, payment of Claims for Reimbursement for liquidations of FSP expenditures and for any contractual agreements for commercial transportation for FSP events.

  • Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.
  • Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered for Selective Service.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final Secret security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • This position is subject to work an uncommon tour, including nights, weekends, and holidays to meet mission requirements. Overtime or night differential pay and/or unusual duty hours may be required.
  • You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • This position may require nonstandard duty hours in order to pick-up or drop-off international students at the airport driving a 15 passenger van.
  • This position requires the ability to type at least 40 words per minute. Your response to the typing skill question on the Occupational Questionnaire will be used in your qualification determination.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-06 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector: As the sponsor, liaison, and coordinator you will be developing, coordinating, and providing a comprehensive in-processing and out-processing to international military students; maintain personnel and training information (e.g. training records, correspondence, violations, counseling) in accordance with guidelines; assists in the development and presentation of events and activities related to the school curriculum; and briefs to senior leadership on points of protocol and culture with anticipated impact on actions relative to diverse cultures.
