About the Position: The U.S. Military Academy, West Point, NY is an academic institution located in the Hudson River Valley, 50 miles from New York City. The historic site is the oldest continuously occupied military post in America. West Point is a self-contained city with housing, a Department of Public Works, libraries, hospital, fire department, chapels, and restaurants. Employees have access to Eisenhower Hall Theater, Hudson Valley's performing arts center, and recreational facilities.

Duties

Initiate, review, and process procurement requests for supplies. Forecast present and future supply requirements. Personally perform or direct others in the receipt and storage of reimbursable supplies. Perform continuous stock position analysis. Research and analyze product costs and available sources. Resolve supply inventory deficiencies and discrepancies. Conduct inventories. Utilize supply management software/automation tools/systems.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • Employee must be able to obtain and maintain a valid state driver's license.
  • This position is subject to the Lautenberg amendment to the gun control act of 1968.
  • This position is covered by the Civilian Drug Abuse Testing Program. Pre-employment and random drug testing Required.
  • The incumbent of this position must be able to obtain and maintain a valid driver's license with Hazardous Material Endorsement.
  • Incumbent will be required to take and pass the required Hazardous Material Course.
  • Temporary Duty Travel (TDY) or Business Travel is up to 10%.
