Duties
Serves as a member of the United States Army Special Operations Command (USASOC), CIO/G-6, G-6 Division, Tactical C4 Branch.
Manages life cycle of assigned tactical communications systems through development, procurement, and fielding.
Directs, prepares, provides technical supervision, and obtains approval of user requirements documents and critical operational issues and criteria.
Initiates actions to ensure development of associated planning, testing, and fielding documents.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a TOP SECRET clearance.
- TDY travel up to 35% may be required.
- Drug testing is required.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Specialized experience: One year of specialized experience in planning, directing, and advising on tactical communications requirements; interpret general communication policies, regulations, technology and programs; evaluate and make decisions for major telecommunications programs; coordinate tactical communications such as acquisition and fielding. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service GS-11.
