You will serve as a TECHNICIAN in the CHEMICAL, BIOLOGICAL, & RADIOLOGICAL (CBR) FLEET SUPPORT BRANCH of the CBR DEFENSE DIVISION in the RDT&E DEPARTMENT of NAVSURFWARCEN IH DIV. This position is equivalent to the GS-13/14 level. The salary range shown above represents all of the positions within the band, including high grade positions. This is not a high grade position; therefore, the salary may be limited to a GS-13 Step 10 (currently $145,617).

Duties

You will be responsible for providing technical support to multiple programs in the Marine Corps Test and Evaluation portfolio. You will develop and refine requirements throughout systems acquisition process, design, development, testing, evaluation, installation, fielding, training, maintenance, and sustainment. You will provide technical engineering support for multiple projects. You will develop project approaches, anticipate and identify problems, and analyze and proposes solutions. You will act as a designated government representative, provide in-briefs and out-briefs as required, collaborate and coordinate internally and externally. You will provide a high quality of customer care, demonstrate cooperation with others, communicate well with team members, and be involved with team meetings and discussions.

  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • This position is covered under the Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act (DAWIA). Certification in the Acquisition Functional Area and category assigned to the position is required within established category timeframes.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower pay band NT-04 (GS-11 and GS-12 equivalency) in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector analyzing, developing, and utilizing engineering methods and procedures to assess Chemical, Biological, and Radiological Defense (CBRD) system support requirements and provide technical direction test and evaluation projects to support chemical, biological and radiological (CBR) defense or other scientific programs.
