About the Position: Serves as an Operations Specialist within United States Army Special Operations Command (USASOC), G-4 Directorate, who provides assignments in terms of broadly defined missions and functions.
This position is located in Fort, Liberty, NC.
Position may be filled as a temporary promotion or detail NTE 2 years by a current permanent Army employee.
Duties
Provides technical expertise and management for the synchronization and integration of USAOSC’s logistics activities in support of USSOCOM and the Geographic Combatant Commands.
Provides counsel and information papers to the Director on all aspects of directorate/division integration, synchronization, and funding.
Develops Directorate business practices, procedures, and strategic plans. Assures regular mission actions are thoroughly coordinated, adequately staffed, and professionally executed according to Directorate’s priorities.
Assists in determining the methodologies used in achieving work goals and objectives, and determines other integration and management strategies for a multitude of efforts.
Manages the development, revision, and analysis of center/directorate-level matrices and tracking systems designed to evaluate the level of integration involved in meeting USSOCOM and U.S. Army battle rhythm management and governance forums.
Develops, monitors, and manages the Directorate fiscal and personnel resource plans and programs.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Top Secret with SCI security clearance or access for the duration of employment.
- The duties of this position meet the criteria for compliance with Federal and Department of the Army Drug Free Workplace Programs. This position is subject to a pre-employment screening, and random testing thereafter,
- Term employment is subject to a one year trial period.
- This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 10% of the time.
- Due to the nature of this position, employees are required to regularly work both planned and unscheduled overtime.

Current Department of Army Civilian Employees
In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes experience: 1) Applying regulations, policies, procedures, practices and techniques to mission-essential operational issues. 2) Planning and conducting projects and/or studies to evaluate and recommend ways to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of operations. 3) Facilitating the day-to-day operations of a Special Operations military command and managing the taskings assigned to the directorate.4) Assisting with the preparation of information papers and briefings regarding logistics requirements. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11)

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-11).
