Duties

This position serves as a Joint Operations Planner in the Agency Synchronization and Operations Center (ASOC), Logistics Operations (J-3), Headquarters, Defense Logistics Agency (DLA). Manages, coordinates, and directs the execution of strategic logistics planning and future operations planning efforts. Organizes the incorporation of DLA logistics capabilities into assessments and validates DLA investments in joint business practices and strategic alliances. Supports Joint Chief of Staff (JCS) and Combatant Commands (CCMD) Planning Guidance. Represents the directorate when conducting and participating in meetings, briefings, or conferences regarding strategic, operational, and contingency planning programs. Makes expert recommendations, decisions, and commitments as they relate to strategic logistics plans. Coordinates and comments on joint plans, instructions, memoranda and directives pertaining to contingency operations, disaster response, and consequence management as a DLA representative to the Joint Planning and Executive Community. Integrates high level Department of Defense (DoD) planning documents by understanding the unique blend of tactical to strategic level combat support, combat service support operations, and how DLA impacts those operations. Serves as a staff advisor and subject matter consultant in all matters involving interpretation, formulation, and evaluation for logistical planning and future operations. Oversees and advises staff on the establishment of immediate and long-range goals, objectives, plans, and schedules to meet changes in legislation, program authority, and funding.

Qualifications

To qualify for a Supply System Analyst your resume and supporting documentation must support: A. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience that equipped you with the particular competencies to successfully perform the duties of the position, and is directly in or related to this position. To qualify at the GS-14 level, applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 level or equivalent under other pay systems in the Federal service, military, or private sector. Applicants must meet eligibility requirements including time-in-grade (General Schedule (GS) positions only), time-after-competitive appointment, minimum qualifications, and any other regulatory requirements by the cut-off/closing date of the announcement. Creditable specialized experience includes: Demonstrated experience managing, coordinating, and directing the execution of strategic logistics planning and future operation planning. Experience making expert recommendations, decisions, and commitments as they relate to strategic logistics plans. Experience with and mastery of advanced management systems, organizational principles and practices, and programs used to determine, execute, and evaluate logistical programs and exercises. Proven skill in performing in-depth mission analysis for determining customer requirements, and mission constraints and restraints. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

Education

Substitution of education may not be used in lieu of specialized experience for this grade level.
