As the Associate Director for Management Operations in the Safety & Mission Assurance Directorate, you will provide leadership of key center-level management systems to help ensure the success of our flight and ground facility projects. You will interface with senior management as you lead the development and implementation of the center-level risk management process and further the maturity of the Ames Quality Management System and Problem Reporting and Corrective Action system.
Duties
Oversee the Ames Quality Management System (AQMS) through management of the AQMS team in assessing the effectiveness of the AQMS and providing leadership to help ensure the success of NASA Ames’ programs and projects.
Oversee the Center Directives Management System (CDMS) by ensuring all directives, standards, and Organizational Profiles are properly maintained.
Oversee the review and comment of draft NASA directives.
Oversee the formulation and implementation of the Ames Center-level Risk Management process with a focus on institutional risks. Provide leadership and support to organizations in the development of risks and mitigation plans.
Oversee the Ames Problem Reporting and Corrective Action (PRACA) system as PRACA Manager to identify trends and opportunities for improvement of NASA Ames' programs and projects.
Support the Director and Deputy Director on center-level and agency-level actions.

Requirements
- Current Federal employees must meet qualifications, time in grade, and 90 days after competitive appointment requirements by the closing date of the announcement.

Qualifications
Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular ability, skill, and knowledge to successfully perform the duties of this position and is typically in or related to this line of work.
To qualify for GS-15, you must have one year of directly related specialized experience equivalent to the GS-14 level:
Implementing quality management system requirements in flight and/or ground facility projects;
Overseeing or implementing NASA's continuous risk management process (identify, analyze, plan, track, and control);
Implementing the Ames' Problem Reporting and Corrective Action (PRACA) system on flight and/or ground facility projects.
