You will serve as a Production Controller in the Waterfront Operations Department of the SUPSHIP.

Duties

You will be responsible for a variety of duties that includes coordination, management and review of contract requirement, specifications, and all other related documents associated with ship construction. You will review specifications, engineering drawings, government furnished material and engineering support schedules to ensure the contract ship is being built. You will inspect the contractor's work in industrial areas such as machine shops, fabrication facilities and on the ship to assess progress and performance You will serve as the subject matter expert for material procurement and supply chain management to support aircraft carrier new construction. You will be responsible for extensive review, research, and resolve changes and problems of assigned ship. You will provide status input to a variety of reports that provide customers with the status of assigned projects.

  • You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • This position is covered under the Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act (DAWIA). Certification in the Acquisition Functional Area and category assigned to the position is required within established category timeframes.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Reviewing contract requirements, work specifications, funds administration, or work packages for ship repair, overhaul, or construction projects to meet ship readiness projects or construction.
