Duties

Managing the BLM National Data Center located at the Denver Federal Center in Denver, CO. The incumbent will serve as a Contracting Officer Representative (COR). Oversee the day-to-day activities in the Data Center. Provides networking expertise in the operations and maintenance, protocol, performance analysis, planning and tasks necessary to support connections with the Department of Interior (DOI) Enterprise Services Network (ESN). The incumbent is responsible for planning, analysis, development, and management of the operation and maintenance of the physical data processing environment in computer rooms. Works with local offices to assure telecommunications cabling and facilities meet industry standards and provides needed space and capacity for Bureau telecommunications requirements.

You must possess one (1) full year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 level that is equivalent in difficulty and complexity as indicated by the following examples: creates, reviews, evaluates and approves design criteria and specification for facility construction, remodel or modification; provides expertise and oversight in the complex planning, testing integration and installation of network technologies; supports the implementation of IT security procedures, practices, and tools to assigned supported IT network systems. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
