About the Position: This position located with the US Army Recruiting Command, USAREC, Health Services Directorate, Quality Assurance Professions, Fort Knox, KY. The incumbent will serve as the assistant to the Director, Health Service Directorate on recruiting policies, procedures and production statistics.
Duties
Ensure documents for suitability adjudication are completed correctly prior to submission
Monitor actions to be able to keep managers informed regarding the status.
Verify information accuracy when preparing correspondence, memorandums, directives, or reports for management signature.
Demonstrate courtesy and tact when providing customer service in difficult situations.
Demonstrate excellent telephone etiquette and verbal communication skills at all times.
Interact effectively with a variety of managers or office personnel to obtain and exchange necessary information.
Build partnerships to foster a team environment.
Operates personnel computers using a variety of programs to process work, e.g., TOPMIS II, AORS, RDMS, SMS, IPERMS and the various software packages found on the MS suite desktops.
From review of applications, personnel records, etc., establishes general administrative professional and technical qualifications of applicants.
Determines administrative eligibility of applicants.
Creates new computer logs and enters necessary data on ACCESS databases and EXCEL spreadsheets for office efficiency and accountability.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 5% of the time.
- Appointment to this position is subject to a one year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes 1)Processing military personnel actions such as in and out processing, records/systems updates, Soldier Readiness processing, deployment processing, reassignments, retirements, separations, promotions, and evaluation; 2) Utilizing software programs such as word processing, database management, electronic mail, calendar planning, graphics, and spreadsheet.
This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-06).
