About the Position: This position is located at Fort Johnson, Louisiana. Incumbent will serve as the Administrative Officer for the Joint Readiness Training Center's (JRTC) Winning the Fight for Talent Campaign, and will work under the general supervision of the JRTC and the Assistant Chief of Staff, G-1.

Duties

Synchronizes meetings, briefings, long-range, short-range, and near-term events for the Commanding General, Chief of Staff, and Command Sergeant Major. Performs mission critical reviews as required on all administrative staff actions for the Command Group. Coordinates activities such as ceremonial events, staff functions, technical support, finance, and travel. Manages travel on the Defense Travel System for the command group. Reviews documents to ensure effective writing in accordance with Army Regulation 25-50 and Army Writing doctrine. Drafts replies to general inquiries to ensure effective communication.

Requirements

  • This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment.
  • This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 40% of the time.

This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-07). OR Education: Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position such as management, human resources management, business management, or public administration. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the first year (total graduate semester hours minus 18) by 18. Add the two percentages. GS-11 Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes rendering clarifications to units and staff officers on all phases of programs such as: records management, directives, travel administration or publication functions; assisting commanders to ensure compliance with policies governing printing, duplication or regulatory guidance; and developing recruitment efforts using assignment and talent management programs. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-09). OR Education: Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position such as management, human resources management, business management, or public administration. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18. Add the two percentages.
