About the Position: This position is located at the Human Resources Command, The Adjutant General Directorate, Operations Division, Fort Knox, KY. Serves as part of a team providing functional guidance to the directorate staff in areas of civilian management, procedural guidance, and personnel information as found within numerous personnel actions.
Duties
Provide functional guidance to assigned directorate personnel in areas of civilian personnel management, procedural guidance and personnel information as found within civilian personnel actions
Provide customer service to assigned civilian personnel on programs to include, but not limited to civilian appraisals, recruitment, Position Description (PD) review, civilian awards, and civilian personnel management.
Gather and analyze data for civilian personnel manning to utilize in briefings to senior leadership on organizational structure and/or workforce utilization.
Advises the Branch Chief on management and control of records (i.e. storage, retrieval, and routing of records and files for organizations with similar missions and functions).
Provides guidance to requests for information received from various inquiries, composes correspondence as necessary to other organizations to clarify questionable areas, and composes correspondence detailing final decisions to concerned individuals.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Incumbent subject to a One-year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 315.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.

Specialized experience:
For GS-07
Specialized experience is defined as one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-05 level in the Federal service which includes work that involves utilizing a personal computer to produce, copy, and edit a variety of standardized documents, uses advanced functions of one software type and/or varied functions of more than one software type (spreadsheet, database, etc.), assisting in the resolution of civilian personnel actions, including but not limited to, recruitment, promotion, details, reassignment, within-grade increases, awards, and training.
For GS-09
Specialized experience is defined as one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-09 level in the Federal service which includes work that involves utilizing a personal computer to produce, copy, and edit a variety of standardized documents, uses advanced functions of one software type and/or varied functions of more than one software type (spreadsheet, database, etc.), skill in applying, providing assistance and guidance in the resolution of civilian personnel actions, including but not limited to, recruitment, promotion, details, reassignment, retirement, within-grade increases, awards, training, overtime, pay and leave administration, new employee orientation, and the performance management system.
For GS-11
Specialized experience is defined as one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-09 level in the Federal service which includes work that involves knowledge of, skill in applying, providing assistance and guidance in the resolution of all civilian personnel actions, including but not limited to, recruitment, promotion, details, position classification, reassignment, retirement, within-grade increases, employee discipline, awards, training, overtime, pay and leave administration, new employee orientation, and the performance management system.
GS-07
Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-05).
GS-09
Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-07).
GS-11
Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-09).
Education
