About the Position: As Administrative Officer is located at Headquarters, FORSCOM, Fort Liberty, NC. Fort Liberty is a culturally diverse area with rural and city populations, co-located at Fayetteville, NC centrally located in the beautiful state of North Carolina, which enjoys a temperate year-round climate and world-renowned colleges and universities. Fayetteville is centrally located between the beautiful beaches of North Carolina and the scenic Blue Ridge and Smoky Mountains.
Duties
Serves as personal advisor, assistant and consultant to the both the G-4 and Deputy G-4 on executive administrative matters.
Reviews all correspondence prior to submission for the Directorate's approval and signature.
Provides recommendations for appropriate involvement in various commitments, based on knowledge of how similar situations have been handled in the past.
Maintains close liaison and working relationships with Army leadership, both civilian and military; Joint Commands; other Army Commands; and staff assistants and installations.
Exercises control over scheduling of G-4 and Deputy G-4’s work-related appointments, meetings, telephone calls, conferences, and travel as well as social and civic agenda and obligations.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This position has been designated a Testing Designated Position and is therefore covered by the Civilian Drug Testing Program which requires random drug urinalysis testing.
- his position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Top Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment
- This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 10% of the time.
- Appointment to this position is subject to a one year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 315.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes performing administrative functions in the areas of support services, awards, civilian personnel, manpower, document/reports control, logistics, etc.; analyzing and measuring the effectiveness, efficiency, and productivity of administrative programs; and providing staff advice, assistance, and consultation in response to a wide variety of administrative procedures, taskings, and response to inquiries. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11).
