Duties

You will perform advanced engineering technician duties and serve as a technical engineering expert on the equipment and reviews requirements with professional engineers. You will provide technical expertise to investigation teams to determine casual factors. You will be responsible for validating Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's), developing new tooling, fixtures and equipment enhancements to improve the manufacturing process. You will maintain equipment, tools and workstations, as well as ensure buildings are compliant with all safety requirements. You will provide data, references and other pertinent information and advice to engineers and technicians.

Requirements

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • This is a bargaining unit position.
  • You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.
  • Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
  • You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.
  • Work is performed in areas where potentially harmful physical and chemical agents are present (e.g. fumes, dust, heat, ionizing and non-ionizing radiation and chemicals). You will be required to participate in medical surveillance programs.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

Qualifications

For the NT-04: Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the NT-03 (GS-09/10 equivalent) pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector analyzing and developing technical engineering procedures and providing technical oversight of energetic manufacturing processes and equipment ensuring compliance with quality and technical requirements. For the NT-03: Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower pay band, NT-02 (GS-05-08 equivalent) in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector reading and interpreting technical drawings, diagrams, or specifications to perform technical engineering work (e.g. design; troubleshooting; or maintenance and repair of production systems and equipment) in support of energetic processes, equipment, and systems.
