This position is located in the Marketing Branch of the Morale, Welfare and Recreation (MWR) Department, Naval Support Activity Memphis, Millington, Tennessee. Position provides installation administrative support associated with planning, initiating, and implementing a comprehensive marketing program including public relations, advertising, research, and social media.

Duties

Assists Marketing Manager in the administrative duties associated with planning, initiating, and implementing a comprehensive marketing program including public relations, advertising and commercial sponsorship. Performs a variety of tasks to produce marketing materials for on-going and one-time programs, events and advertising campaigns that may include, but are not limited to: brochures, flyers, posters, videos, newsletters, email, websites, presentations, social media, publications, official message traffic, banners, and other printed materials. Assists in the maintenance of marketing tools and equipment used to produce, print, publish, post, display marketing as appropriate to meet the goals of the MWR Department. Receive and complete marketing requests and report progress through project management system. Takes photos and videos as appropriate for marketing, advertising and sponsorship projects. Drives a government vehicle to facilities and events in support of Marketing department efforts. Performs other related duties as assigned.

• A valid State driver's license is required to operate motor vehicles.

• Ability to sustain considerable walking, standing, bending, stooping, and lifting up to 40 pounds.
• The work requires physical ability to layout and cut large substrates and place signs.

Qualifications

A qualified candidate possess the following: Knowledge of the Navy MWR mission and the purpose of various Navy MWR activities. Knowledge of all phases of marketing and communications, including knowledge of principles, methods, practices, trends and techniques. Knowledge of and ability to use proper grammar, spelling and standard writing styles. Ability to conceptualize and recommend advertising methods from written and verbal instructions. Ability to gather and effectively organize information. Ability to effectively work as a team member with flexibility to work in different positions within the department. Ability to analyze business needs and develop marketing and recommendations in a fast-paced environment. Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
