The primary purpose of this position is: To serve as security specialist for an organization with subordinate organizations below them to protect resources from espionage, terrorism, and threats of unauthorized disclosure and/or compromise of information or material considered vital to the organization's mission interests, national defense or national security.
The organizational location of this position is: 412 Test Wing/XP2, Edwards Air Force Base, CA.
Duties
Duty 1: Serves as security program specialist executing and enforcing compliance with operational, functional, and mission assurance aspects of an integrated information security program.
Duty 2: Executes and enforces compliance with the organization personnel security program. Interprets AF, DoD, and national regulations and laws for Personnel Security processes as they apply and are implemented within the organization.
Duty 3: Serves as the organization's representative for Industrial Security issues. Maintains an in-depth knowledge of multiple customer missions in order to facilitate the protection of classified and SCI access as required by contract performance.
Duty 4: Administers the Physical Security Program for the organization. Uses comprehensive knowledge of the integrated organization's mission to advise commanders and or involved parties on security facilities/equipment/alarm installation, maintenance, and use.

- All new DCIPS employees are required to complete a two-year DCIPS trial period.
- Position is designated special-sensitive, incumbent must be able to obtain and retain a Top Secret (TS) security clearance with access to Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI). A non-disclosure agreement must be signed

Qualifications
In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Administrative and Management Positions
This is a GG-12 position in the Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel System (DCIPS). The GG-12 duties for the "Professional" work category are at the "Full Performance" work level and are equivalent to those at the GS-12 level. The selectee's salary will be set within the grade equivalent to a GS/GG grade based on the selectee's qualifications in relation to the job.
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: Your resume must reflect the quality level of experience which demonstrates the possession of the knowledge, skills, abilities, and competencies necessary for successful job performance required for this position. Examples of creditable experience include: Having the quality level of experience which demonstrates knowledge of a wide range of concepts, principles and practices in security administration and intelligence, such as would be gained through extensive graduate study or experience, and skill in applying this knowledge to difficult and complex work assignments or a comprehensive, intensive, practical knowledge of Information and Personnel Security. Note: Creditable experience may include previous military experience, experience gained in the private sector, or experience gained in another government.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:
1. Knowledge of a wide range of security specialties, concepts, principles, criteria, requirements, technology, and practices.
2. Knowledge of the intelligence enterprise to support and promote information sharing and strategies.
3. Knowledge of required security training concepts, programs, procedures, and practices to assist managers in establishing and operating internal security programs.
4. Skill in the use of analytical principles, practices, and techniques to review and evaluate security programs to meet mission requirements and improve the security program for the organization.
5. Ability to communicate orally and in writing, clearly, concisely, and accurately.
6. Ability to establish effective professional working relationships with coworkers and customers, contributing to a cooperative working environment and successful accomplishment of the mission.
Conditions of Employment continued:
1. Department of Defense Security Fundamentals Professional Certification, Security Asset Protection Professional Certification, and Physical Security Certification conferrals are required within 2 years of the established employee EOD or initial assignment date to this position in accordance with DOD 3305.13-M, DoD Security Accreditation and Certification. The listed certification requirements may not be deleted or modified without the written approval of the AF Security Functional Authority (SAF/AA) or their delegated security career field representative.
PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.
VOLUNTEER WORK EXPERIENCE: Refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service Programs (i.e., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student and social).
