You will serve as a SUPERVISORY SECURITY SPECIALIST in the PROGRAM AND SPECIAL SECURITY DIVISION, SECURITY DEPARTMENT of NAVAIRWARCENWPNDIV POINT MUGU.
Duties
You will coordinate Physical Security plans and procedures integrated with other security and operational disciplines.
You will supervise and maintain oversight of the command's Information Security programs, provide informational briefs to leadership, and act as an advisor to program/project personnel.
You will assess threats, hazards to command activity, and recommend controls to reduce or eliminate unnecessary risks through the proper posturing of command resources.
You will provide coaching, counseling, and discipline to employees.

- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

- This position requires you to obtain and maintain a Department of Defense (DoD) Security Professional Educational Development (SPeD) certification within six months of assuming the position.
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the (NM-03) pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate some or all of the following: 1) Utilizing a wide range of Special Access Program (SAP) security related concepts, principles, criteria, requirements, technology, and practices; 2) Interpreting a variety of security program laws, directives, regulations, and guidance to assist subordinate organizations in establishing and operating internal security programs; 3) Using analytical principles, practices, and techniques to review, evaluate, and apply several alternatives according to the security requirements for highly specific situations, availability of materials, relationships with other protective programs, and cost/benefit considerations; 4) Demonstrating familiarity with Information Security (INFOSEC), Personnel Security (PERSEC), Physical Security (PHYSEC) as it relates to both the command security program protecting classified information and force protection/mission assurance applications; 5) Analyzing data related to facility planning and assessments, making sound recommendations to management and coordinating internally and externally for implementation of management direction; and 6) Reading and understanding documentation related to facility planning, contracts, and requirements.
