You will serve as Electronic Digital Control Mechanic Leader in the Facility and Infrastructure Management Department of FLEET READINESS CENTER SOUTHWEST.

Duties

You will perform diagnostic troubleshooting techniques that isolate faults that have resulted in a machine system failure. You will provide leadership to shop personnel, and assist in training of personnel as it pertains to equipment and equipment maintenance. You will be responsible for quality, functional accuracy, and timely completion of work performed by other employees within the organization. You will adjust the daily workload allocation of subordinates to complete repairs of machinery in a manner consistent with the customer's changing priorities. You will comply with safety regulations, practices, and procedures.

Requirements

  • You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.

  • Must be determined suitable for federal employment.

  • You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.

Qualifications

This job has a screen-out element which will be used to determine minimum eligibility for this job. Applicants who do not receive a minimum of two points on the screen-out element(s) will be found ineligible. The Screen-out Element for this position is: ABILITY TO DO THE WORK OF THE POSITION WITHOUT MORE THAN NORMAL SUPERVISION, and includes performing common tasks under general supervision such as: (1) Maintaining, repairing, troubleshooting, and aligning industrial electronic computer, controlled automated test equipment, computer numerical controlled (CNC) machine tools, computer controlled automated material handling (AMHS) storage and retrieval systems and a wide variety of general purpose mini and microcomputer systems and equipment; (2) Demonstrating working knowledge of operating principles of computers used in industrial applications and their peripheral devices; (3) Applying job-related experience and understanding of digital computer logic, technical trouble-shooting, and use of electronic test equipment to isolate and repair machinery faults; (4) Reading and interpreting blueprints, job orders, specifications, and maintenance instructions; (5) Assisting in writing maintenance and diagnostic programs in support organizational goals and objectives; (6) Providing technical assistance to other personnel that perform corrective and preventive maintenance of assigned machinery and equipment; and (7) Instructing personnel in the implementation of new and improved shop techniques.
