The purpose of this position is to provide technical expertise ensuring DeCA information systems, networks and data are able to operate with a sustainable degree of confidentiality, integrity, and availability through planned risk analysis, testing, development, implementation, and enhancement of information systems security programs, policies, and procedures.
Duties
Leads and facilitates the implementation of the DeCA Cybersecurity program.
Develops security policies and guidance in support of implemented safeguards and practices for the DeCA user community and the protection of DeCA information systems.
Provides technical oversight and security engineering throughout system and acquisition life cycles.
Participates in network and systems designs, ensuring implementation of appropriate security controls and policies.

Qualifications
You must meet the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) qualifications for series 2210 and additional requirements by the announcement closing date. Your resume must clearly show that you have one (1) year of specialized experience) equivalent to at least GS-12. Experience can be under other Federal service pay systems, private sector, or military.
Examples of Specialized Experience include:
Developing long range plans for IT security systems that anticipate, identify, evaluate, mitigate, and minimize risks associated with IT systems vulnerabilities.
Resolve integration issues related to the implementation of new systems within the existing infrastructure.
Reviews IT equipment and software acquisition specifications ensuring compliance.
You will receive credit for all relevant qualifying experience (paid and unpaid), including volunteer work done through National Service program (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social).
Additional Requirements that must be met by the closing date:
Time-in-grade applies to the promotion of current and former federal employees who hold or have held a permanent GS position in either the competitive or excepted service in the previous 52 weeks, including current employees applying under VEOA. For GS-13: You must have 52 weeks of Federal service at or equivalent to GS-12.
Time after competitive appointment.
