This position is located at the Blackfeet Service Unit in Browning, MT. The purpose of this position is to provide services in the Diabetes and JVN programs. These services promote the efficient continuum of care. The incumbent reports to the Supervsory Nurse (Diabetes) or desginee.

Duties

Oversee the daily operation of the Diabetes Department and JVN Program. Prepare requisitions for supplies and equipment. Collect and enter various data into the computer as required by the specialty program. Maintain records/reports, including preventive maintenance, equipment evaluation, and equipment inventory.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS GS-05: Four (4) years of education above high school or One (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-04 grade level GS-06: One (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level GS-07: One (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level NOTE: Equivalent combination of education and experience are qualifying for all grade levels and positions for which both education and experience are acceptable. General Experience Progressively responsible clerical, office, or other work that indicates ability to acquire the particular knowledge and skills needed to perform the duties of the position to be filled. Specialized Experience Experience that equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities (KSA's) to perform successfully the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the position to be filled. Your resume must demonstrate at least one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level in the Federal service obtained in either the private or public sector performing the following type of work and/or tasks: Examples of specialized experience at the GS-05 grade level Initiate, track and maintain JVN Program requisitions for supplies and equipment; Organize JVN screenings and vision education programs for the organization; and ensure the Diabetes Department and JVN Program maintain CMS, MSDS and other regulatory requirements. Examples of specialized experience at the GS-06 grade level Plan, analyze, and evaluate the effectiveness of the JVN Program; Responsible for initiating and maintaining preventative maintenance contracts on all JVN equipment; and troubleshoot, set up and calibrate equipment. Examples of specialized experience at the GS-07 grade level Develop, evaluate and advise on policies for providing care in a diabetes clinic, as well as a JVN program; Properly use a JVN IAS camera and equipment to perform retinal examinations; Provide backup assistance when the primary imager is unavailable; and works with clinicians to interpret image data from the equipment. Time In Grade Federal employees in the competitive service are also subject to the Time-In-Grade Requirements: Merit Promotion (status) candidates must have completed one year of service at the next lower grade level. Time-In-Grade provisions do not apply under the Excepted Service Examining Plan (ESEP). You must meet all qualification requirements within 30 days of the closing date of the announcement.
