Duties

1. Plans, organizes, and oversees the activities of the 561 NOS Operations Support Flight. 2. Exercises supervisory personnel management responsibilities. 3. Represents the 561 NOS with a variety of installation and functional area organizations. 4. Functions as a senior technical advisor on contract and budget activities.

Requirements

  • Position is designated special-sensitive and incumbent must be able to obtain and retain a TOP SECRET (TS) security clearance with access to Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI). A non-disclosure agreement must be signed

  • This position has been designated by the Air Force as a Testing Designated Position (TDP) under the Air Force Civilian Drug Demand Reduction Program. Employee must pass initial and periodic short notice drug testing
  • Information Assurance Certification is a condition of employment. This position includes information assurance (IA) work as a paramount duty requirement. Per DoD 8570.01-M, the incumbent of this position must achieve the appropriate (continued)
  • IA certification within six months of assignment of these duties. A waiver of this six month requirement may be granted per DoD 8570.01-M, C3.2.4.2 or C3.2.4.3. Failure to receive the proper IA certification may result in removal from this position
  • Work may occasionally require travel away from the normal duty station on military or commercial aircraft

Qualifications

This is a GG-13 position in the Cyber Excepted Service (CES). The GG-13 duties for the "Supervision/Management" work category are at the "Senior" work level and are equivalent to those at the GS-13 level. The selectee's salary will be set within the grade equivalent to a GS/GG grade based on the selectee's qualifications in relation to the job. BASIC REQUIREMENTS: For all positions individuals must have IT-related experience demonstrating each of the four competencies listed below. The employing agency is responsible for identifying the specific level of proficiency required for each competency at each grade level based on the requirements of the position being filled. 1. NOTE: IN ADDITION TO MEETING THE BASIC REQUIREMENTS ABOVE APPLICANT MUST ALSO MEET THE QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS LISTED BELOW. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Your resume must reflect the quality level of experience which demonstrates the possession of the knowledge, skills, abilities, and competencies necessary for successful job performance required for this position. Examples of creditable experience include:Attention to Detail, Customer Service, Oral Communication, and Problem Solving AND provide secure and non-secure Information Technology (IT) Enterprise core network operations, network defense and application operations support services. plans, develops, implements, operates and maintains Enterprise CORE Services command and control, communications and other mission critical computer systems and IT Services. Note: Creditable experience may include previous military experience, experience gained in the private sector, or experience gained in another government agency. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas: 1. Knowledge of cyber systems' operational capability and functionality with specific emphasis on AF Network Operation systems. Also knowledgeable of the capabilities and limitations of advanced network equipment (e.g., routers, switches, bridges, gateways, firewalls, proxy services, mail relay services, vulnerability and patching services; monitoring and metrics services and application servers). 2. Knowledge of safety, ITSM, project management and security regulations, practices, and procedures. 3. Ability to plan, organize, and direct the functions and mentor, motivate, and appraise the staff of an organization through subordinate supervisors. 4. Ability to analyze, plan, and adjust work operations of one or more organizational segments to meet program requirements and objectives within available resources. 5. Ability to communicate both orally and in writing. 6. Professional level knowledge, skills and abilities in the industry best practice areas of project management (as presented by the Project Management Institute in their Project Management Professional certification), computer security management (as presented by ISC2 in their Certified Information Systems Security Professional certification), information technology service management (as presented by ITIL in their ITIL Expert certification), AF contract management (as presented by the Defense Acquisition University in their Contracting Officer Representative certification) and adult education. PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week. VOLUNTEER WORK EXPERIENCE: Refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service Programs (i.e., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student and social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge and skills that can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
