This position is being recruited under 10 USC 1599f into the Cyber Excepted Service and does NOT convey eligibility to be converted to the Competitive Service. It has been identified as a position necessary to carry out and support the mission of the US Cyber Command.
It is in the SUPERVISION/MANAGEMENT Work Category at the EXPERT Work Level within the CES Occupational Structure. It is located in the DISA - J6-Endpoint & Global Services/J62
Duties
Incumbent serves at the Directorate level in J6- Endpoint and Customer Service as the J62 Security Operations Chief.
Provides management oversight and technical guidance over the operations and sustainment of critical cyber security operations and infrastructure that range from unclassified to TS/SCI.
Supervisory responsibilities for civilian, military and contractor personnel.
Monitors and assesses information system operations to include cybersecurity policy adequacy, systems planning, integration and requirements design; network architecture and configuration management, etc.
Directs the evaluation of implementation, maintenance, and analysis of deployed information systems multidiscipline security procedures to determine that security protection requirements meet required protection of sensitive/classified information.
Directs the development of J6 plans, programs and procedures in the major functional areas of special security, systems security, COMSEC, TEMPEST, personnel and physical security.
Directs or recommends reallocation of resources to meet changing environments and priorities and creates specific tasks, objectives, and schedules to be accomplished to achieve the objectives of the agency.

- This national security position, which may require access to classified information, requires a favorable suitability review and security clearance as a condition of employment. Failure to maintain security eligibility may result in termination.
- This position is covered under DoD Manual 8140 which will be subject to future Cyber Workforce requirements as defined by the Manual.
- The incumbent is required to submit a Financial Disclosure Statement, OGE-450 Executive Branch Confidential Financial Disclosure Report, upon entering the position and annually thereafter, in accordance with DoD 5500.07R.
- Must be able to obtain/maintain Top Secret/SCI security clearance.
- This is a drug testing position.

Basic Requirements:
Attention to Detail- experience reviewing my own information technology-related work or data and have been responsible for reviewing the work of others to ensure accuracy, completeness, and consistency with standards.
Customer Service-developing and maintaining relationships with customers, anticipating and assessing the current and future information technology needs of customers, and developing or identifying information technology products or services that are tailored to meet customer needs.
Oral Communication- briefing senior-level management and IT staff on the status of information technology systems, projects, or daily operations, including the communication of complex technical information to a non-technical audience???????.
Problem Solving- identifying alternatives to address unique, highly complex, or sensitive information technology-related issues. I have anticipated information technology-related problems and have identified and evaluated potential sources of information to generate alternative solution.???????
Qualifying Experience:
To qualify at the GG-15, your resume must describe at least one year of experience that demonstrates the competencies necessary for immediate success in the position. Experience refers to any paid or unpaid experience, including volunteer work and Military service, that would be considered equivalent to work normally performed at the next lower grade level in the federal service.
For this position, qualifying experience is defined as: Experience directing programs covering a range of information technology disciplines, systems, and applications; and contract management, and leading research, analysis and design over core areas including information technology warfare, emerging technology, strategic trends and policy.
