This position is being recruited under 10 USC 1599f into the Cyber Excepted Service and does NOT convey eligibility to be converted to the Competitive Service. It has been identified as a position necessary to carry out and support the mission of the US Cyber Command.
It is in the Supervision/Management Work Category at the Expert Work Level within the CES Occupational Structure. It is located in the DISA J6/Endpoint & Global Services/J67.

Duties
Serve at the Directorate level as the J67 Innovation and Modernization Chief. Directs and oversees studies and analyses of operational changes which would have significant influence on the division, or on the operational support provided.
Provides technical support and guidance to staffs in matters relating to information management (IT) issues that involve a broad range of IT management that typically extends and apply to an entire directorate.
Develops, implements, and ensures compliance with plans, policies, standards, infrastructures, and architectures that establish the framework for the management of programs assigned to the division.
Studies the organization/processes to determine areas for improvement to ensure optimum accomplishment of mission and allow maximum utilization of resources.
Continually studies strategic, capital and workforce planning and investment control, policy and standards development, resource and knowledge management, architecture and infrastructure planning, and information security management.
Directs or recommends reallocation of resources to meet changing environments and priorities. Creates specific tasks, objectives, and schedules to be accomplished to achieve the objectives of the agency.
Directly tasks assigned and matrixed leaders/personnel and establishes and directs special working groups to ensure the achievement of technical, operational, and administrative objectives.
Maintains knowledge of information systems, networks, services and requirements to support the agency mission.
Anticipates, identifies, recommends strategies, and concepts of operations for contemporary, emerging, and strategic issues. Formulates strategy for initiatives and ideas that are identified or anticipated in contemporary and future environments.

- This national security position, which may require access to classified information, requires a favorable suitability review and security clearance as a condition of employment. Failure to maintain security eligibility may result in termination.
- Must be able to obtain/maintain Top Secret/SCI security clearance.
- This is a drug testing position.
- Office of Government Ethics (OGE) confidential financial disclosure form 450 is required for this position.

Qualifying Experience:
To qualify at the GG-15, your resume must describe at least one year of experience that demonstrates the competencies necessary for immediate success in the position. Experience refers to any paid or unpaid experience, including volunteer work and Military service, that would be considered equivalent to work normally performed at the next lower grade level in the federal service. For this position, qualifying experience is defined as: experience directing programs with technical authority over a range of information technology disciplines, systems, and applications; with contract management; and leading research, analysis and design over core areas including information technology warfare, emerging technology, strategic trends and policy.
