Duties

Leads, conducts, facilitates, and/or participates in Integrated Product/Process Teams (IPT) and working groups as required. Leads participation in USSOCOM, Army, and USASOC Requirements Identification and Development processes to validate and prioritize required capabilities as well as to identify Special Operations Forces (SOF) and Service Common capability gaps and associated solutions. Possesses broad knowledge of Force Development and Modernization processes and functions in support of the Command's Strategic Planning Process Possesses broad knowledge of all command functions (intel, operations, sustainment, etc.), organizations (USASOC HQ Staff, USAJFKSWCS, Special Forces, Civil Affairs, PSYOP, Aviation, Ranger Regiment, and Enabler Support)

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret security clearance based on an SSBI with eligibility for sensitive compartmented information (SCI).
  • In accordance with Change 3 to AR 600-85, Alcohol and Drug Abuse Prevention and Control Program.
  • TDY travel is required 10% or less of the time.
  • This position has a one-year supervisory probation period to assess your ability to perform supervisory duties is required unless previously completed.

This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12). Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: LeadershipPlanning and EvaluatingTechnical Competence Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-12).
