You will serve as a INDUSTRIAL SPECIALIST in the System Safety and Air Systems Integration Department within the Air Systems Group (ASG) of NAVAIRWARCENAC DIV.
Duties
You will provide technical direction for the planning, organizing, directing, conducting and reporting of system safety in direct support of PMA-231 and all assigned programs and integrated systems for air and sea applications.
You will develop new System Safety test techniques and approaches to reduce the severity and frequency of hazards and mishaps and keeps abreast of the state-of-the-art technologies applicable to tactical aircraft weapon systems.
You will make written and/or oral reports to higher management whenever deemed necessary regarding program safety status and requirements.
You will recommend acceptance/rejection safety related documentation and priorities for project work on the basis of technical, fiscal, personnel, required project completion date, and other resource considerations.
Requirements

- This position is covered under the Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act (DAWIA). Certification in the Acquisition Functional Area and category assigned to the position is required within established category timeframes.
- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12/13 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: (1) providing System Safety engineering support and/or technical leadership to weapon system programs/projects; (2) interface with Program and technical leadership to resolve safety issues and hazards; (3) applying System Safety technical acumen & expertise to assess system level hazards and execute System Safety programs.
